Copra Cake

1.    SCOPE OF WORK
This standardization consists of definition, classification, quality requirement, sampling method, testing method, signing method and packaging.

2.    DEFINITION
Copra cake is produced by the waste of post production of copra after taking out the oil by pressing mechanism and/or extraction process.

3.    CLASSIFICATION
Copra cake can be devided by two (2) different qualification, as follows:

Type A, copra cakes from extraction process.
Type B, copra cake from process of pressing mechanism (“Hydraulic” and/or “Continuous Screw Pressing”).

Open and applicate plate in two different container, each container contains of I & II different starter solution.
Starter solution I (6.5.4.6.3) dietileter + methanol + destilated water (94 + 4,5 + 1,5)
Starter solution II (6.5.4.6.1) chloroform + aceton (90 + 10).

Monitoring and calculating the content of aflatoxin B₁, conduct as per (6.5.6.6) and (6.5.6.7) on methanol I.

Remarks:
1)    Minimum of limit detection for aflatoxin B₁ is  10,0 ug/kg
2)    To do exact test for aflatoxin in extract solution; splatter the plate with the extract solution, spray with sulfate acid 50% (v/v), spot the blue color of aflatoxin will change into yellow under the UV light.
3)    All the leftover of the extract solution, sample, residue, filtering paper, will be disposed to special disposal, soak in natrium hypoclorit solution for 4% in 5 hours, and ready to dispose.
4)    All glasses material which are contaminated with aflatoxin, must be soaked in 1% of natrium hypochlorite solution  for 2 hours, and ready to be cleaned/washed.

5.    SIGNING REQUIREMENT

In outside part of container/gunny sack (except “in bulk”) to be sign by paint with clear writing, e.g. :

6.    PACKAGING METHOD
Copra cake is packed in “cake” and “pellet” forms, wrapped by clean and strong with maximum weight of 90 kg (except “in bulk”).
