This standardization consists of definition, quality requirement, sampling method, testing method, packaging and how to labeling cocnut charcoal.
Definition
Coconut charcoal is produced by carbonization of coconut shell plant.
Quality requirement
Qualification of coconut charcoal is determined by table, as follows:

Sampling Method
Sampling method as per SNI 19 – 0428 – 1989, Direction of how to do sampling on solid sample.
Testing Method
Loss part during firing in 950⁰C.
Principle
Loss weight during heating/firing without oxygen in 950⁰C is calculated as Loss part.
Unknown material
Any material which is not included in coconut charcoal, and all unfinished coconut charcoal or overfired coconut charcoal, all considered as Unknown material.
Packaging Method
Coconut charcoal is packed in sealed and closed container, safety during transporting and storage.
Labeling Requirement
Package must be labeled with name of commodity, brand and logo, nett weight, name and address of the company.
