This time the demand came for the best commodity of North Sulawesi, which is coconut flour, by Russian market. Infact, Rusia has been waiting for this supply of coconut flour to meet their domestic demands.

“Besides selling our potential on investment and tourism, me myself and team are also doing marketing of all our  best products like fisheries, agriculture and plantation. A good respond has come from Russia when we offered to sell coconut flour from North Sulawesi,”said Governor, Dr. SH. Sarundajang as spoken by Executive Staff for Public Communication, Michael Umbas. The opportunity to introduce North Sulawesi’s best commodity has been used by the Governor when he was accompanying the Head of National Investment Bureau, Gita Wiryawan.

For the first stage, Russia has ordered 8 containers per month, and this is  just the beggining. In the future more order to come since the pretty big demands they are having in Russia now, Governeor furtherly said.

In order to follow up this order, the Indonesian Embasssy in Moscow has been helped to be the facilitator with the Russian businessmen who will become the buyers and have held a special meeting in time the Governor left the country to Manado. The meeting is on technical stage has been handled by Deputy Chief Minister of Indonesian Embassy in Moscow and Belarus, Dian Wirangjurit. The meeting has discussed about the detailed business, such as request of quota and delivery process.

To anticipate the availibility of coconut flour, Governor will do special technical meeting together with some related agencies when arriving in Manado. “The Russian side is quite serious on this matter. And this  is a valuable opportunity for North Sulawesi which is wellknown as an area of coconut producer. Therefore, all the related agencies have to do good coordination and to calculate the alocation for export needs, in particular this Russian market,” Sarundajang insisted.

The Governor expected to have an open ‘pivot trading’ for the commodity of coconut derivatives with Russia, that will give a positive influence/effect to the local enterpreneur and the farmers in North Sulawesi.

“This is a good chance to be used by our producers and farmers in North Sulawesi. I ask Trade agency, Agriculture Agency and Planning Board to be pro-active to facilitate this project,” said the Governor before flying back from Domodedovo Airport in Moscow to Manado.
