Welcome to the online CMIC service!
It is my pleasure to welcome and introduce you to the Coconut Market Information Centre (CMIC). The CMIC is an Internet-based web portal that will serve as a central repository of information and intelligence on the coconut sector for North Sulawesi, and will focus on business and market opportunities, as well as key issues facing the North Sulawesi coconut sector.
Our office, the BIMP-EAGA Executive Secretariat takes the initiative and positions itself as a point to coordinate the efforts of putting together the online information for all coconut sector stakeholders. This is consistent with our mandate to focus on Natural Resource Development (NRD) that will make use of its external networks and contacts, both domestically and internationally to benefit the coconut sector. Within its flagship program under NRD, coconut products such as copra, cooking oil, VCO, shell charcoal, among others, are one of the program priorities of enhancing and expanding their industry and business since North Sulawesi is one of the main producers and exporters of coconut products in the country.
The BIMP-EAGA Executive Secretariat of North Sulawesi with a technical assistance from the Canada Indonesia Private Sector Enterprise Development (CIPSED) project develops the online service for the coconut industry namely the Coconut Market Information Centre (CMIC). This office collaborates with multi-stakeholders in sharing and providing data and information for CMIC. Those stakeholders are the North Sulawesi Agencies for Plantation, for Industry and Trade, for Cooperatives and Small Businesses, the Research Unit for Coconut and Other Palms, the Board of Research and Standardization, and the Integrated Economic Development Zone (KAPET) Manado-Bitung.
I thank CIPSED for its technical assistance and the institutions mentioned above for their commitment and cooperation in helping the CMIC become a reality. I hope further collaborations can be made with wider stakeholders including coconut stakeholders in other BIMP-EAGA countries.
Finally, to all coconut sector stakeholders, with pleasure I offer you this online service to be used for your own advantage, and please do not hesitate to contact us for question or input for the betterment of our service.
Thank you, Maraming, Terima Kasih!
