Welcome to North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia
North Sulawesi is located in the northernmost tip of the Sulawesi island. It is one of the most prosperous and spectacularly scenic areas in Indonesia.

The Bunaken island in North Sulawesi is clean and virtually unspoiled, making it a prime destination for eco-tourism and diving activities. The Minahasa Highland, an extremely mountainous area, is composed of green hills and valleys with several extinct volcanoes bestowing amazingly breathtaking views. Its capital city, Manado, is one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia and it has been enriched with nature’s blessings.

North Sulawesi is a paradise for the adventurer and the fit traveller. Superb sights such as tropical rain forests, natural sea corals, and lush tropical marine life await the expectant explorer. Notably, this province has been dubbed as “the land of smiling people” and the “Spice island”. For the last five years, the provincial economic and development indices have always been above national averages.

Bunaken island within the Bunaken National Park is a diving paradise. The flat, sloping and vertical fringing reef and lagoons are easily found in a close perimeter around the island. Sparkling clear water with diverse species of fish, corals and sponge communities in any spot around the island is a stunning attraction for tourists. North Sulawesi water is decorated with a 380-km chain of over 150 islands to the north. There is an underwater volcano within the chain as well.

Economic Positioning
North Sulawesi is in the rim of the Pacific and a gate of two international sea lanes connecting the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. Sam Ratulangi International Airport and Bitung Seaport have opened North Sulawesi and neighbouring provinces to global markets. With a total population of around 2.2 million, the province continues to grow and is a global supplier of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, coffee and coconut. It is self-contained on rice and vegetables. Palm sugar, fisheries and the tourism industry are on the rise and are believed to be the province’s future. Mining and forestry is progressing with caution. Natural resource conservation and environmental management are seriously respected to guard the province’s economic development.
