About the Coconut Market Information Center (CMIC)
The Coconut Market Information Center (CMIC) is a new online service that is dedicated to providing information and other resources to the Coconut sector in North Sulawesi, with the main goal of enhancing production and market potential. The CMIC also offers domestic and international buyers or investors the ability to become more familiar with the supply of coconut products from the region and the opportunities that this represents.
The CMIC is in its first phase of development, and will continue to grow and provide access to an expanding collection of information in order to fulfill these objectives. Future enhancements to the CMIC will provide small businesses, government and stakeholder organizations, and farmers improved access to the information and marketing services needed to improve and expand the coconut community.
The CMICs key supporters and stakeholders are:
- BIMP-EAGA North Sulawesi (facilitator of the CMIC)
- Department of Industry & Trade
- Department of Plantations
- Department of Cooperatives & Small Business
- KAPET Manado-Bitung
The CMIC is was developed with the support of the Canada Indonesia Private Sector Enterprise Development (CIPSED) project, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
